CHAMPS Competency Training

4-hour interactive, competency-based training curriculum developed by Every Mother for hospitals enrolled in the Mississippi CHAMPS (Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices) program.

The training provides hands-on skills building in the following areas: counseling skills, skin-to-skin care, how to breastfeed, hand expression, and safe preparation of infant formula.

Coffective Baby-Friendly Training

Every Mother, Inc. developed a 15-hour online breastfeeding training course and in-person training platform for Coffective.com that includes learning content required by Baby-Friendly USA.

The curriculum is highly visual and based on adult learning techniques.

High Five for Success: Preparing Moms for Their Hospital Experience

Addresses five crucial early practices that can help improve the ability of new families to reach their breastfeeding goals.

Includes: the first hour, skin-to-skin care, staying close to baby, early infant feeding cues, and ways to calm a fussy baby.

Length: 1.5 hours   

 

Preparing Families for Baby-Friendly WORKSHOP

This full-day training event for hospital nurses, WIC staff, and community partners is designed to bring together community partners to prepare new families for Baby-Friendly practices.

The workshop addresses why breastfeeding matters, the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, key strategies to help new families get off to a great start, resources, and activities that can help create community-wide support for new families.

Length: 6 hours

 

Talk it Up: Using Patient-Centered Counseling Approaches

Effective active listening skills that can be used by health care professionals to help patients make informed decisions about breastfeeding and reach their feeding goals.

Length: 1-1.5 hours
